Powerhouse Racing competes in SCCA GT-1 National Competition and in Trans-Am Professional Competition, both series feature the fastest tube chassis, composite bodied, normally aspirated big horsepower American sports cars ever built. Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, Vipers and more, driven by some of the sports most talented drivers competing in wheel to wheel high speed action. Ground pounding – earth shaking excitement. |
The SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) is the largest automobile membership club in America. Top teams from around the United States competing in purpose built tube chassis composite bodied race cars that exemplify the American automotive tradition of horsepower and great looks. Powerhouse Racing travels to some of the world’s greatest road racing venues competing against the best GT1 drivers in the United States at SE Division tracks like Sebring, Carolina Motorsports Park, Daytona International Speedway, Homestead Speedway, Roebling Road, Virginia International Raceway and Barber Motorsports Park competing in SCCA National Points Series. Powerhouse Racing will also travel to Road America prior to the September 2010 National Championship Run-Offs event to compete in two SCCA National races in preparation for the Run-Offs, as they balance their season between SCCA Nationals and Trans Am pro series races. |
The TRANS-AM Series is a joint venture between Sports Car Club of America, Inc. and subsidiary SCCA Pro Racing, the 2010 Muscle Milk SCCA Trans-Am Series will consist of a projected eight events across the country. Technical rules will be based on the SCCA GT-1 class. The series will begin its 43rd championship season. Former series Champions include Peter Gregg, Pete Halsmer, Dorsey Schroeder, Tommy Kendall, Scott Pruett and Boris Said.
All events are expected to be approximately 90 miles in length with no pit stops. Races in conjunction with Club Racing events will have qualifying and race sessions separate from the regular GT-1 competition grouping, so drivers have the potential to run both the GT-1 Club Racing event and the Trans-Am Series event on the same weekend, other events will be held in conjunction with other professional series races. |
